In 3 hi-tech parks, a thousand crore taka has been invested

21 companies got the opportunity to invest in Bangabandhu Hi-Tech City in Kaliakair, Sheikh Jamal Software Technology Park and Sheikh Kamal IT Incubation Center in Chittagong. These companies will employ 2,500 people by investing a total of Tk. 1,000 crore in these three high-tech parks. Within the next two months, the companies will have to invest in the parks. Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority has allotted land to 4 companies in Kaliakair, 16 in Chittagong and 1 in KUET. Among them, Bangladesh Card Limited has been allotted seven acres of land in Block 4 of Bangabandhu Hi-Tech City. The company will manufacture and assemble smartcard special security products and ATM machines there. For this the company will invest  BDT 860 crore. There will be employment for 650 people. In addition, Asia Computer Bazar Limited, which has been allotted 2 acres of land in Block 7 of the park, will create employment for 600 people by investing Tk. 35 crore. Celtron Electro Manufacturing Company Limited will create employment for 150 people by investing Tk. 25 crore in 0.5 acre land in Block 4. The digital security agency of the ICT department has got 14.33 acres of land in this park. On the other hand, Zenex, Hello World, Xceed Bangladesh Limited, Engenium Consulting, AW Communication, Quazi Communications, Aamra Networks Limited, Exponent Info System, Trust Global, Imtiaz Enterprise, Rial IT, Sangjog u.com, Coders Lab, Plan-B Solution, KAR Communication and Bangla Puzzle Limited have been allotted land at Chittagong's Valiant Muktijoddha Lieutenant Sheikh Jamal Software Technology Park. NM Zeaul Alam, senior secretary of the ICT department, handed over the land deeds to the owners of these companies at the conference center of Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority on Wednesday. Bikarna Kumar Ghosh, Managing Director of the company, signed the agreement on behalf of the Hi-Tech Park Authority. Separate MoUs were also signed with Women and E-Commerce (WE), Women Entrepreneurs Forum, Nibedita and Bangladesh Women in Technology.
Speaking as the chief guest on the occasion, NM Zeaul Alam, Senior Secretary, ICT Department, said that it is now the right time to build a sustainable high-tech manufacturing ecosystem in Bangladesh where high-tech parks can play a leading role. A labor-dependent economy is not enough to survive the competition of emerging economies to overcome the post-Covid-19 global recession risks. In the current context, countries that are focusing on developing knowledge-based and technology-based industries will be able to attract FDI (foreign direct investment). Realizing this reality, the senior secretary urged to work for the development of technology-based infrastructure. He added that 10 high-tech parks in the country are ready for investment at the moment, three of which were recently inaugurated by the Prime Minister on Digital Bangladesh Day. Products produced in Bangabandhu Hi-Tech City are also being exported abroad. Commenting on this initiative of Hi-Tech Park, Managing Director Bikarna Kumar Ghosh said, "We hope that 2041 will emerge as a big hub of employment and export earnings in Bangladesh." Speaking on the occasion, the Managing Director of Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority said that so far 175 companies have been allotted space and plots in the country's high-tech parks and 148 local startup companies have been allotted free space/co-working space. The Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority has created a skilled manpower of 36,000 in the ICT sector through various trainings considering the demand for manpower in the IT industry. The Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority has created about 22,000 direct jobs in the ICT sector. The Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority is committed to ensuring fast and efficient service to investors; A total of 148 services are being provided through One Stop Service to provide easy, short time and low cost services to the investors. Of these, 43 services are being provided online.
